I was an alcoholic. I decided I was going to try a month without alcohol. I decided to try some magic mushrooms during this time. I have completely and entirely lost my taste for alcohol. I can be around it, doesn't tempt me in any way. I recently tried a sip of a cocktail from a high end restaurant. It just doesn't taste good anymore. I highly recommend trying this.

Sad truth is you can't be friends with anyone that is an alcoholic. If someone is drinking alone or drinks "because its the weekend" or drinks to relax. You got to drop them... You shouldn't avoid the bar because of the alcohol. You should avoid it because that's where the alcoholics are. Idk how much your girlfriend drinks, but you have to tell her not to drink around you, you can't see her drunk ever. She cant have alcohol in the house, otherwise you will relapse. If you don't... you might as well drink right now.

Shouldn’t date a 21yr old girl. She will eventually bring you to drink again. You will see.

My liver will be instantly inflamed when I drink haha. Tired, hand twitches etc. All good bro. We real alcohols just have to be honest! We can't drink. Great to see another video man.

I’m almost 1 year sober and now I just feel sorry for drunk people. They just don’t get it yet. I wish I could get everyone to stop poisoning themselves it’s sad. Not to mention they are super annoying and sloppy too. Stopping alcohol was the best decision I ever made. Never going back!!!

Great video to spread awareness. My story is a bit different. Alcohol never effected my relationship with people, friends, family. I was a hard core binge drinker for about 23 years. Toured in countless bands. I have a high paying job. But my vice was beer slamming. I would pound 8%-10% beer in 6 seconds flat and drink about 20 of those a night. From sober to wasted in five minutes. Made it through life with little to no problems. Some poor choices here and there but no regrets. However, with that said.. IT all caught up to me in health. Won't go into a Ted Talk about it but my doctor said "You keep this up, you'll be dead in 2-5 years.. We have a choice, it's not too late". So I flipped a 180 and did it. I'm almost two months sober. Don't miss it much. Got some medication to get me well. Then it dawned on me that I've been sick for a long time. I'll be 50 in a few months and I won't live long living like that like. Sure, my wife still pisses me off, co-workers annoy me and I pretty much still hate the human race.. But I wake up on a positive note each morning knowing tomorrow I won't feel like dog sh*t. I can go to bar, sit at bar and be okay without drinking as long there is fake beer. Helps me blend in, no one questions me and my brain is tricking my body into thinking im consuming alcohol. It's kind of fun.. Oh cool cat btw, had fun watching them make an appearance. :)

Thank you for sharing this. All my life I either have an iced coffee, water or an cocktail. Always needing that oral stimulation. I have been doing some deep healing work and started sucking my thumb at times. I sucked my thumb until I was 3. There must be a correlation. Thanks again.

Always glad to watch a new video. I first saw one of your videos when I was 2 months sober and you were at 9 months. Then I watched a video when you crossed the 1 year. Now last week I crossed 1 year. You've helped me more than you'll ever know. I've thanked you before but I'm thanking you again. Sobriety and alcohol do not mix in any way. Even being around people who are consuming it. “Have fun without liquor!” They say, but there is absolutely nothing fun about remaining sober while people around you are turning up and getting rowdy. We are not on the same wavelength. Im NOTHING like the person I am when I’m drunk. So it’s weird seeing those people sober and trying to interact with them..

Makes me mad how the grocery stores put stacks of beer right where you have no choice but to walk right past them. I can avoid the beer isle. They know exactly what they are doing.

I'm three months sober and I love it!

I lost half my pancreas drinking beer only over 20 years. I was sure my hospital bed was where I would die. A two and a half week stay and I bounced back. My kidneys had shut down. Urine was as dark as whiskey when I could pee. I’m 38 and have probably shortened my life. My doctor said I would have been better off drinking liquor. It’s a miracle I’m still here. 646 days sober. Hang in there people.

Man I used to drink my grandpas stump liquor, his home made stump liquor would have me off my rocker bro. I’d drink a couple shots of that and next thing I knew I was driving a stolen ups truck down a dirt road totally convinced I was Patric Swayze on my way to the double Duce ready to fight a bunch of rednecks. I literally believed that was Patrick freaking Swayze. Can’t tell you how many times my brother had to talk me down “Frank, you aren’t a bouncer and you aren’t Patrick Swayze” but I was, I was convinced I was Swayze and I’d be lookin for baby so we could dirty dance. And other times I’d just go utterly insane and try to burn the house down cuz I thought it was haunted my ghost children only I could see and hear. Other times I’d just get butthole bare booty naked and run as hard as I could through food lion for no reason. Grandpa was a masker at making stuff that could strip the paint off a battleship and I was a master of getting totally trashed and doing things to ruin my own life. Like getting drunk and calling 911 over and over just yelling my brains out that I was the rightful president and I want the nukes to be sent out at once or I was gonna be pissed, went to jail 4 times over that one.

Triggers are crazy. My first college job everyone did blow, I had to quit..well my friend called an quit for me, but luckily no rehab. I did blow Mon to Sat. To this day if I drive in downtown Chicago on Lower Wacker Drive, my brain releases dopamines passing by this giant office building.

I also still have nightmares about drinking and in them I feel the shame and guilt of having started to drink again. I also dream about losing control of my drinking and have severe withdrawals like the DTs. When I wake up I am so relieved that I am sober and it was not real. Congratulations on continuing with your sobriety!

I hate getting verbally rabbit punched by “friends” liquored up and then expect me to pretend it’s no big deal when they sober up. I’m 59. Life is too short to waste on drama.

Random this was recommended but made me stop and think about my drinking. I have 1-2 drinks (beer or wine) maybe 5 nights a week. I love it and enjoy how the complement a meal and the end of a productive day. I seldom binge drink but occasionally will get a solid buzz when on lake or at an event with friend's. I haven't consumed to the point of having a bad hangover since my mid 20s (31 now), and alcohol doesn't thwart anything I do in my life. Although I am well aware of the harm it has done to so many. My wife and I are pregnant with our first child, on track with finances/debt making well into the 6 figures, and living a productive active lifestyle while nurturing healthy relationships with family and friends. Do you think there is a problem with enjoying alcohol as a victory or a complement to life if I have it "under control"? Or am I simply dancing with the devil not noticing a cage forming around the dance floor?
